Epsom Salt Baths

Epsom salts are made of magnesium sulphate and when this is absorbed through the skin, it draws toxins
from the body. Hot water will draw toxins to the skin’s surface and as the water cools it pulls toxins from the
skin. Epsom salts increases the detoxification by causing you to sweat.
Unlike many health supplements, Epsom salt does not need to be ingested. In fact, because magnesium
and sulphate can be dissolved in water and absorbed through the skin, an Epsom salt bath is a great way to
reap its benefits.
Instructions
You would dissolve 1 -2 cups of Epsom Salts in a warm bath and then relax in there for about 20 minutes. At
the end, turn the cold tap on so you lower the temperature of the water and stay in the bath for a few
minutes until you feel cold. If you prefer you could have a cold shower instead.
Once you are out of the bath, go straight to bed either in cotton nightwear or a cotton sheet so that your
body can sweat. It is important to have plenty of water so that you can sip as needed. You may find that you
have a raised heart rate as you are sweating (hence the note re: contra-indications above).
